This is one barbaric animal with an epic appetite to destroy Super Cars. The 750 horsepower twin turbo V8 power plant directs all those ponies into a 6-speed manual transmission that screems. 0-60 mph 2.8 seconds and a top speed of 248 mph all at a price tag of only $555,000. This car can truly open a can of whoop ass and doesn’t even bother taking names. Check out the Discovery video below and leave a comment.
When it comes to royal lineage there may be none more regal than Ferrari. This particular Ferrari is a middle of the pack Super Car in terms of speed, but is still manages 217 mph at the top and has a 0-60 mph in 3.4 seconds. It’s F140 Aluminum V12 engine generates 660 horsepower and the price is actually reasonable at $670,000 considering only 399 are being produced. The video utilized the Enzo of Nick Mason of Pink Floyd being driven by Jeremy Clarkson. Don’t forget to leave a comment.
This is one beautiful car with a fire breathing attitude. Top speed 217 which is fast but not mind boggling, however when you combine that with a 0-60 mph time of 2.9 and a paltry price tag of $379,000, you get a machine that can give daily beat down’s to Super Cars with higher price tags and less of a pedigree. The Aventador is mid engine, all wheel drive. It has a 6.5 liter heart pumping out 690 horsepower delivered to a 7 speed single clutch gearbox. Below is a Motortrend video with more information. Spectacular car but doesn’t crack the under 3.o second 0-60 mph speed needed to make it into the Hyper Car classification. Although it is beating at the Hyper door with a 250 mph ceiling and 0-60 mph 3.2 seconds, it still can’t match the speed of it’s big brother the Koenigsegg Agera R which is in the Hyper class. It’s packing a 90 degree V8 engine packing 806 horsepower with a price tag of only $545,568. Who would have though that these ridiculously fast cars would come from Sweden. Check out the video from Top Gear where Jeremy Clarkson takes it to the track. Don’t forget to leave a comment.
This car held the world record for production car top speed over the Bugatti Veyron from March 2007 until July 2010, when the Veyron 16.4 Super Sport reclaimed the top spot at 267 mph. However this ridiculously fast car offers a speed ceiling of 257 mph and 0-60 mph in a mere 2.7 seconds. This Twin Turbo V8 engine pushes 1183 horsepower with a base price of only $654,400. On March 2011 the Koenigsigg Agera R also surpassed it, pushing the only American made Hyper into the #3 fastest production car in the world, which is still not a bad place to be especially when you consider the base price. The video below shows the Ultimate Aero Discovery Channel discussing the chops of this American exotic. Make sure you leave a comment.
The Hennessey Venom GT is wickedly fast topping out at 260 mph. It’s G-force bending 0-60 mph matches the Bugatti Veyrons 16.4 Super Sports time of 2.5 seconds. The heart of this monster is a 6.2 liter LS9 Turbocharged V8 Twin Turbo engine producing 1200 horsepower. Surprisingly though the price tag is only $950,000 which is not bad for a car in the Hyper Car class. The cars designers believe the top end could be in the 275 range which could put it atop the Worlds Fastest Production Car pyramid. This may very well be the closest competitor to the Veyron with a price that’s less than half. Watch the video below and keep an eye on the passengers eyes as the car accelerates. Great FUN!
This may be the little brother of the Ferrari Enzo in many ways, but it’s still a solid Super Car. The rear mid-engine, rear wheel drive boasts 0-60 mph in under 3.4 seconds and a top end of 202 mph which is at the low end of the Super Car top speed spectrum, but really, how often are you going to push that limit? It’s 4.5 liter V8 engine produces 562 horsepower and has an awesome 9,000 rpm redline. This vicious little Ferrari also holds the world record for most power per liter in a naturally aspirated production car engine. The video below will give you an idea just what these snarling little beasts can do. Be sure to leave a comment.
This spectacular motor vehicle can be purchased in 2-door, 4-door and convertible models. It has a 6.75 liter, 48 valve V12 pumping 453 horsepower. This cruiser has some get up though with a 0-60 time of 5.7 seconds and a top speed of 186 mph. This beauty is loaded with features such as a ‘Power Reserve’ dial which indicates how much of the engines power is available. It can be ordered in 44,000 different paint colors, and you can get just about any leather color to match. This sweet ride offers SatNav with voice recognition, rear view camera, rear seat DVD system, 26 speaker premium sound system, 18 way power front seats, 16 way power rear seats, heated and cooled cup holders, rear seat tables, Heated wood and leather wrapped steering wheel. Basically you can get just about any amenity you could ever desire in dream car. However it has a price tag to match beginning at $380,000 and goes all the way up to $450,000. Below is a short video featuring Jeremy May of top gear taking one for a spin.
2012 Bentley Continental Flying Spur Speed Test Drive And Review: Luxury’s Logical Conclusion
By Jason Fogelson for Forbes Magazine.
I’m driving along at 85 miles per hour on the freeway, bending the speed limit to fit in with the flow of traffic. I know that the car wants to go faster — I can feel it. At 85, the cabin is completely serene, the only noise being the whispered hush of cooling air escaping the dash vents. It takes every ounce of restraint Continue reading
